Evaluation- Story and how the opening sets it up (frame 8)

Our oppening of our two actors set up our story line as it shows them happily talking and just casually walking as if nothing bad is expected to happen. This shot sets it up nicely as the sun is out and the setting looks bright and quite pretty, compared to the woods were it is dark and gloomy. Our story line starts off with just two innocent girls supposedly walking back home on their way back from school, as this shot clearly shows this happening. From this oppening shot the audience wouldnt suspect any thing horrible or unexpected to happen.

However the music at the start is quite slow and quite and sounds creepy which gives it away but leaves the auidence guessing as to what could happen. As the film goes on you can start guessing the plot to our film and the setting turns cold and sinister compared to this shot. This shot also seems reasonably open compared to the woods where its compact with trees, which makes it seem creppier as you dont know what is behind or within them. They are also walking over a bridge, and you cant see what is at the otherside, so it sets up our story well as the auidence wont know they are about to go into the woods, as it looks like they are just walking on a normal path.
